Dance is a fun and exciting form of exercise and a great way to keep fit. The session usually begins with a warm-up which helps to improve fitness and stamina.
In this class is often taught a dance routine that would be completed upon a number of weeks. This helps to develop co-ordination, technique, performance skills and the capacity for movement memory. Sometimes these routines are performed in assembly or in front of parents at the end of a term.
Sometimes, the students choreograph their own dance routines in small groups, giving them an opportunity to have fun, be creative and to build their leadership skills. Occasionally, at the end of the lesson, different dance games take place, as well as being fun, providing an opportunity to practice freestyle moves.
